The RACE!

When I read the below article, I thought of these two scriptures:

"The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favour to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all" (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

“Enter through the narrow gate. The gate is wide and the road is wide that leads to hell, and many people enter through that gate.  But the gate is small and the road is narrow that leads to heaven. Only a few people find that road" (Matthew 7:13).

A WALK AND NOT A RUN

Every athlete seeks to reach the finished line exerting every effort required. Such is the mentality of the athlete to obtain the medal or trophy.

For the believer or Christian, he runs the race with the mentality of reaching the end which is heaven; however he cannot make a dash for it. His race is comparable to a marathon although there is no baton to hand over to another rather there are truths to be learnt.

Each truth picked in the course of the race is vital to get to the next truth. It is recorded that Enoch walked with God until God took Him directly into heaven. Though Paul describes the journey to heaven as a race it is also a walk with God within which we get to know Him, we seek to meet in heaven.

God desires a relationship with us as well hence our race begins with knowing God as the giver of salvation via Calvary (the place of His death) and the accruing benefits of Calvary. It is identifiable by you that you cannot walk with somebody whom you know not.

The end of this race is not quite visible at the start but as it progresses it starts to come into view but you cannot finish it in a day but you do it all the days of life.

This race is a life-long one and the further you go the more you know. Many begin and do not finish because they get tired too soon. There is quite a lot to be known of God as we walk with Him.

Beloved, do not get tired of knowing God as you walk with Him. The race is not a dash to the finish line. Death concludes lives journey which is followed by judgement and this determines whether heaven has being attained or hell obtained.

Hell is easy to run to but heaven is not easy to run to for the price for heaven must be paid via obedience to the commands instructions.

A WALK IS DEMANDING ITS ENERGY TAKING BUT THE END IS WORTH IT. KEEP WALKING KEEP OBEYING AND HEAVEN WILL BE ATTAINED.
